WHO I AM

Hello there, I'm K!

I have a knack for being present with, and really hearing what the client and their body need during each session. I like say that my real job is a professional listener, I just happen to squish some muscles while I do it!

I graduated in 2016 from Hands on Healing Institute, a small holistic school just outside of Los Angeles, CA and again from The Bodhi Tree Center for Healing Arts in Carson City, NV. Along with my continuing education, I have earned 1000+ hours of learning in both bodywork and energy medicine modalities. My speciality is a modality I developed called Integrative Bodywork. This approach utilizes coaching, massage, energy medicine, and non-entheogenic plant allies (ex. sage, lavender, rosemary, olive, etc.) to support clients in integrating and embodying so-called ‘peak experiences.’ A peak experience may include anything from plant medicine journeys, major life changes/transitions, spiritual awakenings, death/loss/grief, etc.

While massage, bodywork, and energy medicine are an important part of the work I do with clients, I also practice and incorporate my profound love for our plant friends, consciousness exploration, music, and shamanism.

A bit about my journey with plant medicine:

I was first called to plant medicine in 2017 when my then-partner returned with their family from an Ayahuasca and Breathwork retreat in Costa Rica. After hearing about my partner’s indescribably-wackadoodle-beautiful experience of the plants, I was entranced. The family planned on going again in 2018 and invited me to go with them. So, having zero experience with psychedelics, nor any inkling to the magical unravelling that was in store, I said yes and saved for a year to make it happen.

2018. Costa Rica. By the second ceremony, I knew nothing was what I thought it was. And I loved every bit of it.

I have been following the proverbial breadcrumbs into the depths of plant medicine, consciousness, and shamanism ever since. For the past 6 years I have been drinking, as well as assisting, in plant ceremonies. With ever expanding gratitude, I have completed 17 master plant dietas, including:

-In June of 2023, an unparalleled month long immersion with Mugwort/Artemisia, Garden Witch and Keeper of the Keys

-Both a 2 week and then incredible year long Dieta-suave (home/remote diet) with the Queen of Flowers, Rose

-Two deep dives with the powerhouse Mapacho (Jungle Tobacco)

-Sacred and powerful merging with my Maestros, Huachuma and Ayahuasca

Other plant friends I have dieted with:

*Ajo Sacha *Sage *Chiric Sanango *Cacao *Cedar *Chakruna *Olive Tree *Bobinsana *Cottonwood *Cinnamon Tree *Pine Tree *Lavender *Ayahuasca Vine *Cacao *Peppermint

I practice in this tradition of the Master Plant Dieta to nourish my personal prayer, and for individual and collective healing. Most of all, this work is a part of my partnership and commitment to Pachamama (Mother Earth), studying the mysteries of herbalism/vegetalista as well as with the powerful Entheogens Huachuma (San Pedro), Ayahuasca, and Mapacho/Rapé(h) (Sacred Tobacco/Shamanic Tobacco Snuff).

Music

In addition to my massage certifications and shamanic training, I am a classically trained violinist, vocalist, percussionist, and singer-songwriter, and have been a practicing musician for nearly 30 years. I often work with my instruments in Integrative Bodywork sessions to facilitate and enrich the experience. I share/pray my music in shamanic and plant medicine ceremonies as well.

What I’m About

My passion is embodiment - the understanding that one’s life doesn’t just happen to and through one’s mind or emotions. The body is a portal/bridge between the earth and spirit world. It’s the fleshy-alchemy of one’s intention to exist, and how they play/learn on this extraordinary planet. The body holds deep wisdom. My joy is helping people remember how to listen to, talk to, and carry the teachings of the body/plants/life/spirit as a rooted part of themselves, so they can move through the world in a deeply connected, vibrant, and felt way.

My practice, continuing education, and self-development has taken me all over the world, from sitting with Indigenous healers in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta of Colombia, to plant medicine retreats in Costa Rica, and Transformational Breathwork intensives in Bali. In addition, I have had the privilege of learning from, sitting with, and working in session with dedicated healers, therapists, guides, and shamanic facilitators here in the U.S. over the years.

I feel such deep gratitude for the many practitioners, facilitators, and teachers (human and non-human) who have walked with me as I have grown into my practice and I am continually humbled by the beautiful individuals I get to partner with on a daily basis. And I look forward to you joining me on this journey!

PHILOSOPHY AND MISSION

 Vitalism, Embodiment, and 'The Huddle'

The body has an innate "vital" intelligence, and is especially equipped to adapt, and rebalance in order to function efficiently. When we allow our body to express this intelligence, and we bring our awareness to its processes, we open a door to the potential for homeostasis and harmony both within and without.

Embodiment means bringing our thoughts, feelings, perceptions, spirit, and experience of being alive into contact with the body's intelligence, so that we may move through the world and our day to day lives in an integrated and satisfying way.

'The Huddle' is my personal philosophy about reciprocity, community, and conscious business building - in short, it's how I operate and a value I reflect in my business as an extension of who I am. And, it's inspired by the sweet, practical wisdom of Penguins!

In short, when penguins huddle on the ice in community, they will position themselves so those that are most in need, tired, younger, older, are at the center of the huddle, with the strongest and most resourced in the outer rings. Then, as the center penguins become more rested and resourced, they will move to the outside of the ring and give the other penguins time in the center to be nurtured and rest. I believe that as a community, it is our responsibility (to all beings) to help support each other in a similar way, and that when and if we can, we take it in turn to support those that have helped support us. If you'd like to learn more about how I am practicing this in my business and life, I am happy to share!

Ultimately, your body is its own best healer and my mission is to give it the best support possible, while also encouraging community-centric reciprocity and healing. What we do for others, we in turn benefit ourselves - and when we heal ourselves, we heal the world.

Vasculature of the Heart

Progress is often marked by a slow return to original sincerity.
Sow a thought, reap an action;
Sow an action, reap a habit;
Sow a habit, reap a character;
Sow a character, reap a destiny.
